In UDG Healthcare, Quality and Compliance covers responsibility for quality, compliance, risk management, insurance, environmental, health and safety and computer systems validation.
Our commitment to Quality is embodied in our Values. Values sum up what a business believes in and practices. Quality is one of UDG Healthcare’s core characteristics and it defines how we approach our business on a daily basis, it defines our people and it defines our standards.
The UDG Quality Policy aligns the diverse businesses under one scalable system and gives a common language for the Quality Management System (QMS). Six fundamental Quality Processes are the basis for the QMS and are focused on ensuring there is clarity for all employees in what they do, how they do it and how they are trained. Integral to the QMS is measurement of our performance and using that information to inform management, to improve and to change for the better when needed.
Good compliance not only helps prevent unethical behaviour and violations of the law but also adds value by improving operational efficiencies and avoiding reputational risk.
Our Vision and Values are underpinned by our desire to maintain the highest ethical standards in everything that we do. The UDG Healthcare Code of Conduct is our primary compliance document and spells out our ethical commitment in doing business.
We have made three simple but overriding commitments to protect our values, which are that we will always:

These commitments have to be owned by all employees, not just our Board of Directors or our senior executive team. Our clear expectation is that everyone who works for, or with, a UDG Healthcare company in any capacity, no matter what they do, where they work or how senior or junior they may be, will take personal responsibility, not only for supporting and abiding by these commitments but also for complying fully with our Code of Conduct.
This is also one of many compliance training programmes on our ‘ComplianceCentre’ such as Anti-Modern Slavery, Anti-bribery and Corruption, Confidential Reporting etc. and together with our global compliance audit programme, ensure these ethical behaviours are continually adhered to.
